CO2 incubators are employed to create optimal conditions for cell culture, ensuring appropriate temperature and moisture levels. The presence of CO2 plays a crucial role in regulating the pH of the culture media through its buffering capacity, maintaining it within the physiological range of approximately 7.4, contingent upon the buffers utilized. Essentially, a CO2 incubator simulates an environment conducive to cell growth that closely resembles that of the human body. Additionally, these incubators mitigate the risk of contamination by filtering the air both inside and around the incubator.
